INEFÁVEL | INEFFABLE

No dicionário inefável significa: (1) que não se pode nomear ou descrever em razão de sua natureza, força, beleza; indizível, indescritível. (2). p.ext. que causa imenso prazer; inebriante, delicioso, encantador. No contexto em que geralmente é utilizado, o teológico, a inefabilidade é considerada um dos atributos de Deus. É o limite que nossos pensamentos podem chegar em relação à natureza divina. Não podemos predicar mais nada em relação a Deus, a não ser que ele é inefável. Entretanto, essa não predicação não quer dizer que não possamos imaginar coisas em relação a Ele. Baseado nisso, o uso dessa palavra na intervenção artística me pareceu extremamente potente. Interessou-me usar a mesma estrutura argumentativa aplicada na construção do conceito de Deus e de suas possibilidades nos discursos, em coisas banais e cotidianas. Uma espécie de profanação positiva a jogar com extremos do discurso que, ao inverter os polos desses limites discursivos, abriria a possibilidade de leituras poéticas e ficcionais.Pensei a etiqueta como uma estratégia de evidenciar ou até mesmo relembrar que as coisas que nos cercam estão carregadas, repletas de mistérios, de desconhecidos de todas as ordens. Um dos primeiros alvos foi uma caixa, um velho arquivo fichário que carrego comigo desde a infância. Nele, cuja origem desconheço – mais uma das várias coisas que me cercam de origem desconhecida – possivelmente já foram inseridas diversas ordens de fichas com nomes, telefones, endereços, toda sorte de construções semânticas para tentar identificar pessoas ou coisas. Fichas e informações que não resistiram ao tempo e que hoje não existem mais. O que restou em seu conteúdo – que desconheço – é apenas a presença dessa inefabilidade. A tampa dessa caixa, assim como suas partes frontal e traseira móvel – articulação que já deve ter permitido um melhor acesso à informação, hoje apenas servem para aumentar o aparente vazio que ali habita. Como um fóssil, o esqueleto cúbico de metal hoje apenas se abre para infinitas possibilidades, para os infinitos tecidos de informação que um dia, já foram seus órgãos.

In the dictionary, ineffable means: (1) that it cannot be named or described due to its nature, strength, beauty; unspeakable, indescribable. (two). p.ext. that causes immense pleasure; intoxicating, delicious, enchanting. In the context in which it is generally used, the theological one, ineffability is considered one of the attributes of God. It is the limit that our thoughts can reach in relation to the divine nature. We cannot predicate anything else in relation to God, other than that he is ineffable. However, this non-predication does not mean that we cannot imagine things in relation to Him. Based on this, the use of this word in artistic intervention seemed extremely powerful to me. I was interested in using the same argumentative structure applied in the construction of the concept of God and its possibilities in speeches, in banal and everyday things. A kind of positive profanation playing with extremes of discourse that, by inverting the poles of these discursive limits, would open up the possibility of poetic and fictional readings. I thought of etiquette as a strategy to highlight or even remind us that the things that surround us are charged , full of mysteries, of unknowns of all kinds. One of the first targets was a box, an old file cabinet that I have carried with me since childhood. In it, whose origin I don't know – another one of the many things that surround me of unknown origin – several orders of cards have probably already been inserted with names, telephone numbers, addresses, all sorts of semantic constructions to try to identify people or things. Files and information that did not stand the test of time and that no longer exist today. What remains in its content – which I don't know – is just the presence of this ineffability. The lid of this box, as well as its movable front and rear parts – a joint that must have already allowed better access to information, today only serve to increase the apparent emptiness that lives there. Like a fossil, the cubic metal skeleton today only opens up to infinite possibilities, to the infinite tissues of information that were once its organs.
